Any ideas for producing more breastmilk? Pumping and nursing more frequently along with fenugreek hasnt worked
My 3 month old son eats quite a bit and we have been supplementing with formula as well. I would rather breastfeed exclusively and have a freezer stock. Is there any hope for me now that i am back to work? I was taking the fenugreek 3 capsules 3 times a day, it helped just a tiny bit, I am very lucky to produce 2 ounces a session, I dont want to give up just yet!

drink more water. at least a gallon a day and pump between feedings.
It’s old fashioned but it worked for me. Drink a Guinness every day
i concur with mystic…..was everything else okay and you yourself came to the conclusion that you were not producing?
and if you continue to offer formula you are sabatoging yourself….you say you are nursing and pumping more but how can you be if you keep supplementing?
if you just nurse him, eat and drink well then your body will respond
and pump on one side while you nurse on the other to get the maximim letdown advantage on the pump
you need to visit a support group and lactation consultant
Try getting a prescription from your doctor for motilium (domperidone)–4 times a day. It helped me for a bit. Also DRINK DRINK DRINK lots of water. Again, this worked for me for a bit, but then I was forced to give it up as my supply just wasn’t there. Pumping and nursing more never worked for me either. Good luck! I know it is tough as you want to do what is best for baby but in the end, you need to ensure your baby is properly nourished. Thinking this way is what helped me.
I was told when I had the same problem to eat more protein…roasted soy beans nuts (something like that) were recommended. I got them, they were nasty, but seemed to help. Could it be that you have enough milk, but it doesnt let down when you try to pump? I tried about 100 times to pump and I would get less than an ounce out of each side but I KNOW I had a good supply, it just wasnt coming down… I have no advice on how to get it to let down… I never could do it even if I tried to relax, warm washclothes, etc… just wouldnt come… good luck!
