The last girl is right, I am a former chef and worked in Jamaica at one time we had 2 trees on the property and they even use the leaves, dried allspice berries or ground allspice and be used in a number of Caribbean dishes, it is the main spice in Jerk seasoning for chicken, pork and fish.

You had Paprika, which is made from red peppers (pimentos) , dried and ground into a powder, and is available in plain, sweet, hot or smoked. Most likely you had either the hot or smoked.

I was under the impression pimento was stuffed into olives. Thanks for showing me there was also a spice, entirely different.

From what I read online, this is also called Allspice.

Try Zingerman's in AA they have lots of stuff.

If they don't have it, try ordering online from Rafal Spice in the Eastern Market of Detroit.
