Are expired spices bad for you?
I was cleaning out my cabinents today and noticed some of my spices are way way outdated by years. Should I pitch them?

You should, but only because the taste will have all but disappeared. Using them won’t make you sick like bad food does. You just won’t taste it as strongly.
They aren’t likely to be bad for you, but neither are they likely to do anything good for food!
Throw them out. They are obviously things you don’t like to cook with anyway!
Never buy herbs and spices in quantities greater than you will use up in a month or two, it’s just a waste of your time & money…
I buy almost all mine in user-friendly quantities from these folks:
Peach is right
i think the spice companies put an earlier expiration date on them than is needed. how else do they sell spices faster
They aren’t bad for you. They just won’t have the flavor they are supposed to have. I would throw them out.
I don’t have a definitive answer, but my parents have had the same bottle of oregano in their cabinet for years, if not decades. The label artwork looks like it could be from the 70s.
they won’t kill you but they probably have no flavor. You could use them to deter bugs around your flowers outside though and maybe deer in your garden.
they aren’t bad for you but they’re probably stale. Time to get fresh ones.
they won’t kill you, but you may as well pitch them. They’ve lost most of their flavor now anyway.
yes because if they dident go bad i dont think they would put expatriation dates on them and they go bad just like food molds and bacteria might like them as much as u do! besides even if they were ok i dont think theyed taste very good!
Yes the flavor just goes away
