basil?

I just planted some basil starts last week. The tag said it needed full sun so I put it in full sun. Now it is wilting even tho;ugh I water it every day. How much water should I be giving it? Should I give it shade? How do I dry the leaves?

Just about all young plants (seedlings) will wilt some when newly planted. Most soon recover. The soil needs to be slightly damp, but not wet. I like to water my garden in the evening so the sun does not evaporate what I have done. Some opinions differ and think you should water in the mornings. I assume you have planted a small quantity so you can give it special care. Water with a mild fertilizer like Miracle Grow, the generic is less expensive, and see what happens. If the plants don’t thrive set a few more out. Good luck.

First of all, have you planted in a garden,or in a pot?I find it’s better planted in a plastic bucket.Full sun is ok,but sun can be very hot.Do not water every day.Water only when top of ground is dry, water well and at dusk,or when sun has gone down.If your plans are wilting, then I suggest, you shade them during hottest part of day.Drying leaves can be done in a microwave on a very low heat, or pop into a paper bag,and leave in an airing cupboard.
