Bugs are eating my mint. How to get rid of them without chemicals?
I have a 3-gallon pot with peppermint, spearmint, rosemary, oregano and marjoram on the patio of my apartment. Some sort of bug is eating and/or sucking the juices from the mint leaves but not touching the other plants. I have a suspicion that it’s leaf-hopper type insects and inchworms falling from a nearby tree. I want to protect my plants, but I don’t know what to do. HELP!!!

Lady Bugs eat aphids and other small pests. You can also spray your plants with a very diluted mixture of dish washing liquid and water. Don’t get all out of shape about dish washing liquid be a chemical…water is a chemical by definition.
Simple green, which is a soap, works great for many kinds of bugs, and won’t harm the plant.
Sprinkle some salt.
or
Add some lemon balm or lemon thyme (both herbs). The bugs don’t like lemon scented plants.
