Can anybody share a recipe for a paprenjak (Croatian pepper cookie)?
I have a recipe for a pepper cookie that has lots of different spices in it, but the paprenjak I ate in Croatia was mostly just pepper, butter, flour, honey, and walnut.
Please note that I do have LOTS of cookie recipes, including about a half dozen for different varieties of spice cookie (including pffeferneuse). I would specifically like a recipe for paprenjak. Thanks!

Apparently this is the cookie that tempted Hansel and Gretel into the witch’s house in the forest!
I can’t find any recipes for Paprenjak but it’s called a spice cookie. Here’s a recipe for Pfferneuse, a German spice cookie and this is wonderful ::
PFFERNEUSE COOKIES
1 c. shortening
3 c. sugar
3 c. honey
1 1/2 c. cold coffee, strong
6 eggs, well beaten
2 tsp. anise (or 5-6 tsp. for more anise flavor)
1 tsp. black pepper
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. baking powder
1 tbsp. baking soda
5 lb. flour
Mix shortening, sugar and honey; bring to hard boil; cool. Add coffee; beat in eggs and spices. Add flour a little at a time as it gets hard to stir. Grease hands with shortening and shape into small round balls. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet. Dip in powdered sugar when cool. Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes.
.
sorry dont have a clue at all.
