Can fresh Italian basil be used to repell certain kinds of bugs in the home?
Wondering if I can put some fresh basil to use to repell bugs in and around my home such as flys, knats, ants, spiders, et..
I specifically want to know what bugs inside the home basil will repell or get rid of. I grew a bunch of basil so wondering if I can hang it around certain areas in the home et. to ward off bugs

Yes it can and it smells so good, I just finished collecting seeds from this years plants. Next year I plan on planting it in more areas to discourage more insects out side and in.
• Basil ward off flies, and mosquitoes.
These help too.
• To repel insects, grow strong-scented herbs such as lavender, rosemary, lemon verbena, lemon basil, and orange mint in pots around your patio, deck, or entry doors.
you can try hot peppers…like ground peppers…or salt for sluggs
