can I grow oriental poppy seeds indoors?

I bought some poppy seeds, and the instructions say to plant seeds outside after the last frost, I’m assuming in the spring… well, it’s sept. 30th and probably too late to plant outdoors. I bought some pots and soil and was wondering if I could grow them inside this winter, (I live in central Mass), and plant them outside this spring.

If you plant don’t do all of them save some for spring. Give it a go. Just do a few seeds, and see how it goes.

They love lots of light, more than just a sunny window. Add some supplemental fluorescent light. RScott

No. They will not do well in the house. They need lots of light and sun and are maeant to be outside in fields. You can start them inside, but no mopre than about six weeks before you out them out.
