Can I make murgh makhani (Indian butter chicken) using garlic powder instead of fresh minced garlic?
Would it change the flavor/texture of the dish considerably? I REALLY don’t want to drive all the way to the store just to get a bulb of garlic. Should I just suck it up and go to Kroger, or can I use garlic powder and get a decent result?
Also–I have everything else (the fresh ginger, cream, etc.)–it’s just the garlic that I’m missing.

Yes, you can use garlic powder. I do the same thing when I’m out. It won’t change the consistency at all and will effect the flavor very little.
Yes, you could…but it would be worth the trip to go get the fresh garlic. NOTHING compares to that.
