Can i put essential oils in vaporizer?
Yes. Using essential oils means you MUST put them in. It’s essential.
Firstly the black stuff at the bottom of the vaporizer is minerals and can be eliminated by using de-mineralising tablets that you
can get at your pharmacist. The tablets are placed in the base
where the water is.
I put essential oils in the cup section on top of my vaporiser but
not inside the base where the water goes.
I am presuming it is the large vaporiser you would use in a room to create mist and not the smaller kind which has a candle in the base and a water dish on top.
Can you please let us know which kind you are using as you can use either with essential oils?
That is what I guessed, so you will need to get some of the
demineralising tablets to get rid of the black stuff.
If you use the tablets then your vaporiser will also last longer.
I come from a ‘hard water area’ and have the same problem.
If you are using essential oils see if you can get 100% pure
essential oils, it’ll cost you more but you use less and they are real oils not manufactured. (watch out for the ones that have too much other plain oil mixed in to make up the volume as you don’t want them)
Good Luck
If you use distilled water in it you won’t have the ‘black stuff’, you can get a gallon of distilled water at Wal-Mart for less than 75 cents. Essential oil is great in vaporizers. If you google essential oils you will learn which are good for the different symptoms. Great stuff.
I tend to err on the side of caution and I would say no. I don’t like the use of vaporizers anyway—they can promote mold and that is NOT healthy. If you want to inhale steam using essential oils, why not use the boiling water method. It’s much easier to avoid any unhealthy bacteria, just be careful not to burn yourself. I would suggest using this technique. Bring water to a boil. Add oils and inhale fumes deeply.
