Can peppermint cause hyperactive behavior in a toddler?
Yesterday we gave my 2 1/2 year old son 2 miniature York peppermint patties. Within about 20 minutes of eating them he was bouncing off the wall. He’s had both chocolate and sugar before with absolutely no adverse reactions, so what could have caused it? Has anyone else had this experience?

Ive never heard of it… maybe it was the excitment of getting candy?
No, never heard of that. I’m sure he was just excited about something else that was going on.
It was the sugar. Maybe he doesn’t have that reaction everytime but if you give a kid candy they are going to get wound up and hyper.
Yes, just had the same thing happen with a 4 year old. I couldn’t figure out what was different and that was the first time he had ever eaten one and he has been like a lightening bolt ever since.
