Can storebought spices be used for magic?

I’ve started dabbling in magic (actual magic, not illusions) and I’m interested in making charms using herb magic. A lot of useful herbs are available at stores and places, but I realized today that those spices and herbs are almost certainly harvested by machinery which is made of iron, and, to my knowledge, iron sucks the magic out of whatever it touches. Does this mean these will be ineffective in charms and spells?

No, spices cannot be used for magic because magic doesn’t exist.

magic is fake. i do not believe in silly magic.

Actually, your best bet is to buy or grow your own fresh herbs, or even gather them from a woodland area. As the magic in any particular herb is strongest when picked in the waxing moon light, using machine-processed, dried herbs would not be nearly as effective.

You can, however, use the herbs and spices you purchased, if you have blessed them and requested your guiding spirit to assist in cleansing them. You then can use them as you wish.

Knitting bear is right, also if you need any help making a talisman, let me know, I work with minor spirits and demons, and am proficient in soul trapping and binding certain spirits to gems and the like, they tend to come in handy for future usage in meditation and when I intend them to do my bidding.
