i wouldn’t see why you couldn’t…just the freshness won’t be there in th powder like the actual onion..
ice cream balances out the soup yum
yes you can.
Biscuits or rolls
Pie
You can, cooking is all about trial & error formula and innovation.
Sure, you will get the onion taste, but you won’t have the onion pieces with it.
I eat grilled cheese with mine, but you can serve a basic salad and rolls and for desert, you could do cookies or pie.
I would serve salad, grilled cheese, the soup, and chocolate chip cookies with milk!! That would be like the ultimate comfort meal to me.
I hope you are using a broth(pre made) I wouldn’t recommend going with out the onion. (adding onion powder is a good idea with the cut up onion-for more flavor)
(what;’s the main course??) If you are just having chicken noodle soup. you don’t need sides.. maybe a salad. what ever dessert you like.. cake.. pie.
Hello Jenny :
Yes ! You can also use onion salt instead of onion powder. However, onion powder is healthier than the salt.
You can also add garlic powder or garlic salt and, also parsley flakes. Boiling (or steaming) different kinds of vegetables like peas, carrots or corn can also be added.
Sandwiches and salads always go well with soup.
Good Luck ! with your meal, Jenny !
You definately can! Just make sure that the amount of onion powder you use is equivilant to how much fresh onion the recipe asks for, this means the taste won’t be affected. The only difference will be the texture as there won’t be any chunks of onion in the soup!
For a side, I would recommended grilled cheese or very fresh crusty bread or a simple garden salad.
Any dessert would go well but maybe something warm such as sticky date pudding or self saucing puddings (chocolate, blueberry etc) which can be served with cream, ice-cream or custard (which can be warm or cold)
