Are you out of school for the summer? If not, can you talk to your guidance counselor?

I hope you get help. Depression can be a long, dark, lonely road.

I am 15 years old, and I am depressed. Please know that you are not alone in this.
Depression is not something to be embarassed over, and you need to see help from your parents, or from a trusted adult like your school counsler.
If you don’t seek help for your depression it could become quite serious. Talk to your parents — they love you and will do whatever it takes to help you get through this rough period in your life. There are options out there for subsituties for depression medication — over the counter, or knockoff brands. The point is that you cannot solve this problem by yourself – you need to talk to an adult who can help you.

Please keep your head up, because these things will change. Remember that you are not alone, and that there is always someone who cares for you. This is a rough moment in your life – but that’s just it. This is just a moment. It will pass and give way to a brighter, happier and more beautiful you than you already are.

if you want to help yourself, get your parents in on this. believe it or not, they can help. and most of the time will. set them down and have a serious conversation. if it’s not their fault you are depressed then make sure they know. if it is, make sure they know that too. tell them how youre feeling and they will understand.

my doctor told me there are two different types of depression. situational and chronic. situational is when your depression differs on who you’re with and what your surroundings are. chronic is when you’re feeling depressed all of the time and have pretty much given up. you don’t necessarily need a psychologist. just a local doctor and your parents. your doctor will be able to explain things to your parents that you cannot. your doctor can also explain things to you and help you figure out if you should go on medicine or just talk to someone. thats personaly what i did. i got on medicine and it helps. it really does.

i hope this has helped. sorry for typos i am so tired.

I am a parent, and I have similar problems as you. As both, I’d like you to consider having an initial discussion with your school counselor. Since school is out, you can also find help at the state health facility. Use this initial discussion to discuss WHY you cant discuss with your parents. If the problem is NOT them, and you are safe, get this counselor to help you discuss this, with them. At this point, you will be surprised at the support they will have for you, plus you can then use insurance, if it is there. There may be medication adn I can tell you there are supplements and dietary changes that will help you , very quickly. A great thing to do as you start this process is exercise and meditation or yoga. Exercise will really quickly help you and begin to chanel endorphins that will help you feel better and sleep well! God speed, trust someone as a counselor – and let that step begin your taking control of this, now, my friend!

hey, i’ve been there before, i know what it is to be depressed. you have to figure out what the problem is, what exactly is causing your depression? is it a painful past experience? a health problem? a fear of something? you have to just talk with your parents because they will know what to do, its gonna be ok, just tell them how you feel and that you want to be happy. i used to be real depressed and sad because i always thought about my mom who died in front of me when i was 11, i used to think i was gonna die like her and i actually believed that i was sick like her, but now i can’t believe i ever thought like that, i know you’re afraid and trust me, you just gotta let your parents know how u feel, surround yourself with good people and friends that have your best interests, and do activities that you enjoy and make you feel happy, you will grow strong over time and you will be better, trust me, hope you feel better

I too have been in your position. I am also a teen your age and I have realized that depression is all in the state of mind. No need for medical treatment nor possibly a psychologist. Please read my answer;

First off the root of depression is thinking about only ones situations such as “Why don’t I get this?” or “Why don’t I get that?” When only thinking about oneself it turns into a dark and lonely world. The situation with depression is all in the mind and it can be solved within the mind.

Okay now I want you to ask yourself these questions;

- Imagine the state of mind when in depression – everything is black, hopeless, cold – try to really feel it in the heart.
- What am I so concerned about?
- Are there thoughts that keep on repeating themselves in my mind?
- Am I only concerned about myself, my own problems and pain?
- Am I realistic about my own situation?
- Am I really helpless, hopeless, hungry, completely alone, poor and cold?
- How many people in the world are really helpless, hopeless, hungry, alone and cold?
- Try to feel some compassion for their suffering.

Please realize that there are people in this world who have to drink dirty water, eat only 1 meal a day possibly only rice for the whole family, children who get abandoned by their parents and get left off in the streets, children who get beaten by their drunk parents on an occasion, women who have to do prostitution to earn a living, women who get raped and then get left off with a baby with no child support, people who lose their families because they live in war zones and then later lose themselves.

You will keep on being depressed until you stop thinking about your own little non life threatening situations. Life threatening situations are the ones that I have named. Once you have stopped thinking about only yourself then finally will you feel free of darkness and loneliness.

**Okay now to feel good with the body naturally;

First tip; Get Active or Exercise.
When you run, jog, do jumping jacks at home, anything that gets you active you will release a natural chemical in your body called Endorphins. Endorphins are the happy chemicals you release in your body when you are being active.

Second tip; Omega 3 Fish Oil Supplement

This amazing 100% natural fish oil supplement that comes from fishes is amazing. It can be bought in around a pack of 180 for around $15, that’s really cheap.You can tell your parents that it helps with memory and focusing for school, which it does and then I’m pretty sure they would buy it for you. You can find it at places such as Walmart, Zellers, Shoppers Drug Mart, ect.
Here is a beneficial list of it in point form;

* A healthier heart, with less inflammation, better levels of cholesterol and triglycerides, less prone to arrhythmias.

* A better mind, improve mood, concentration and memory.

* Healthier joints, less inflammation, pain and arthritis difficulties..

* Improvement of the immune system, colds, flues and general immunity.

* Less PMS symptoms and pain in menstrual period.

* Improve quality of hair, nails and skin.

* Boost eyesight.

* Fights effects of aging, protection for cell membranes.

* Improve the general quality of your life.

* Help with children aggression, hyperactivity, depression, and anti social behavior.

Third Tip; Getting out in the sun
When you are out in the sun you gain vitamin D which makes you feel good, but remember only a few minutes of it a day. When it’s the winter there will be no sunlight, so you can buy vitamin d supplements and take them in the winter.

Please try out what I’ve put for my answer!
