Difference between pressed garlic and garlic cloves?

Explain the garlic press to me. Are you just supposed to squeeze juice from it, or does the press mince it up? And do you get the same results if you just finely chop a clove of garlic with a knife? My friend says a garlic press is a must-have for the kitchen but I’ve never owned one.

garlic cloves are just the practical garlic after u peel it.otherwise it just gets rid of vampires

a garlic press does mince and peel the clove 4 you…i love it cause I hate large chunks of anything in my food…although chopping fineley with knife ..you dont lose any garlic as you would lose a little with press… I use it often..

A garlic press minces the garlic cloves for you. That way you will not have to mince it yourself and get it all over your hands. I say if you use a lot of garlic then a garlic press is a must have. It makes life so much easier.

It depends on what you are making and how fine you want the garlic to be. I have a press, but I hardly ever use it because I cut it up really fine and if I want to mince it, I simply press it with a spoon, so no it is not a must in the kitchen. I recently bought a garlic grinder which works much better, let’s me decide how fine I want the garlic and its a whizz to clean, unlike the press which is a headache. I forgot, the press minces it.
