Do peppermint and chocolate have anything in common?

The reason I ask is I think I’m mildly allergic to both peppermint and chocolate. Whenever I eat chocolate, a candy cane, or chew peppermint-flavored gum, I sneeze a couple times. That’s it, I just sneeze once or twice (which kind of sucks because I might spit out that new piece of gum I just started chewing!).

I was just curious if peppermint and chocolate have a common composition that might make me slightly allergic to them.
