Does anyone know of a good recipe for cinnamon-free applesauce? Or a good cinnamon substitute in applesauce?
My friend is allergic to cinnamon, but wants to try some of my homemade applesauce. I’d like to make some cinnamon free for her, but my attempts haven’t been successful. Thanks for the help!

Just make the apple sauce the way you usually do and use a little allspice or nutmeg instead of the cinnamon. I personally love it with nutmeg. Or you can just add a little extra sweetening. I do think it tastes best with a little spice. Hope this helps.
Just a thought – - consider making pear sauce. Use pears instead of apples, then proceed as you do for applesauce using nutmeg instead of cinnamon.
Applesauce without Cinnamon Recipes
INGREDIENTS
3 pounds apples – peeled, cored and chopped
3 cups water
1 cup white sugar
1 tablespoon lemon juice
DIRECTIONS
Place apples in a large saucepan and just barely cover with water. Simmer over medium-low heat until apples are tender, 15 to 20 minutes.
Run cooked apples through a food mill or blender. Stir in the sugar and lemon juice. Cook over medium heat for about 3 to 5 minutes.
Vanilla and cloves make a delicious applesauce. If you want a particularly good one, vanilla, cloves, and the teensiest pinch of chili powder.
