Does Curcimin / turmeric need to be enteric coated to be of use in the body?
Does Curcimin/turmeric need to be enteric coated to be of use in the body? Ive recently read that to reap the benefits of this herb it needs to survive the digestive tract / stomach acid to be potent?
Is this true?
THANKS

Yes thats true as well.
There are ways around that ….. if you want to make the most of the curcumin in turmeric, use the spice in combination with black pepper . Curcumin is not all that well absorbed by the intestines… but a compound in black pepper, piperine, more than doubles curcumin levels in the bloodstream.

that’s interesting, I haven’t heard that before…..what I have heard about using turmeric internally is that it is effective only when taken with piperine(in black pepper) and also if turmeric is mixed with an oil(extra virgin coconut oil or extra virgin olive oil) this way the body absorbs it better and it directly effects the lymph nodes,…. at least that’s what I read somewhere online in my turmeric research a while back….
take organic turmeric tinctures as this bypasses digestion and is absorbed into the bloodstream directly
