mmmmmmm! I want too be invited!!!
Sounds good. Not sure the chicken in the salad is necessary when the entree is turkey, but ow good job!
That sounds great. Especially strawberry shortcake kabobs. I have never even heard of those and would be super excited to see them on the menu. Um.. what are they? I would love to try to make them. All in all my mouth is watering…. which isn’t good at 10:16 p.m.. Dang it.
Ohhhhh man, I knew I shouldn’t have red this. I’m sooo hungry.
It sounds delicious, like something off a a fancy restaurant menu, I really wish I was going
Send directions and time meal will be served. I’ll bring an appetite.
I would change the salad because chicken and turkey in the same meal, i don’t know sounds odd to me. Maybe a spring mix, the greens are very pretty and look good in any presentation, you can add to it to…Your menu does sound really tasty tho.
I agree, the chicken salad is a little too much with the turkey. How about a crisp romaine salad with fresh vegetables and a good vinaigrette?
Otherwise, it sounds perfectly great. Like A+ material to me.
By the way, next time you have to this, invite me to “taste test” for you.
yes it sounds very good, but the only thing that stood out was the two servings of potatoes, I love potatoes but twice in one meal, maybe instead you can sub a nice steamed carrots in a little butter and brown sugar. or a nice snap peas saute with a little garlic and olive oil. or some grilled asparagus.
Roasted red potatoes and mashers? Maybe roasted sweet potatoes instead!
Your cranberry mousse torte sounds really yummy! Plus they are in season!
Mandarin chicken salad. Chicken? With your turk? Why not just a nice spinach salad with hot abon dressing and mushrooms? Super easy and a nice counterpoint to heavy turkey. Plus they taste soooo good AND you can use the leftover bacon grease (not used for dressing) to saute your beans and shallots.
You are one imaginative young lady! Good luck!
i think the water with lemon sounds a little weak.
maybe you could do some sort of after dinner drink, like coffee with liqueur. (or flavoring if this is for school)
instead of the mashed potatoes – you should do a soup. like butternut squash soup, or something seasonal.
french bread
pudding with nilla wafers
turkey soup
sounds great, but I would either change the turkey or the salad to match a little better, an orange or citrus glaze on the turkey or switch the salad to a cranberry/walnut or something. i would also do something with the mashed potatoes. They are a little plain considering everything. dill/thyme/garlic mashed potatoes or switch to a rice/stuffing dish since you already have the roast potatoes with the turkey anyways. Great start though! I hope you get to cook it for Thanksgiving!
That sounds really good!
Hmm. It -sounds- good. However, the idea of using chicken in your salad gears it more toward a main course salad, rather than a simple side.
Maybe just a simple mixed spring greens salad with some dried, sweetened cranberries, toasted pumpkin seeds, and a light vinaigrette.
The mashed potatoes don’t seem to work, either. You’re pairing roasted red potatoes with the turkey, and then you want to throw in mashed potatoes as well? I’m all for starches, but in a meal, you don’t want a starch overload. Which brings me to my next point. It calls for a vegetable. Not a starch. Yes, a potato is a root vegetable, but in creating meals, your potato is always going to be a starch.
Maybe some brussels sprouts sliced in half, tossed with olive oil, salt, and pepper, then placed cut side down in a hot sauté pan, cover, and cook for about five to ten minutes, then turn over and cook a few more minutes. After that, toss with some freshly grated parmesan cheese.
Or you could do the same with some asparagus if you’re one of those people that dislikes brussels sprouts.
Are you required to make the bread? You could do some garlic, herb, butter rolls. Just find a simple yeast roll dough recipe, then in a small sauté pan, melt some butter over low heat, add in some minced garlic and whatever dried herbs you choose (I like oregano and thyme), some salt and pepper and slowly cook the garlic and rehydrate the herbs. Then once you’ve gotten the rolls made and risen, brush on the melted butter-herb mixture, sprinkle on some freshly grated parmesan cheese, and bake.
If you’re not required to make the bread.. just grab a loaf of french bread from your grocery store’s bakery. I can make a meal of just some bakery french bread.
