Growing vegetables, herbs and plants inside, no direct sunlight?

I would love to grow vegetables in pots in my patio area and herbs on my windowsill, however my kitchen windowsill opens into a completely enclosed patio area (it might as well be an extra room) so there is no natural sunlight available. Does anyone know if/how I can grow vegetables and herbs in pots with no direct sunlight? Which ones should I choose?

Thanks :)

It’s difficult to grow herbs with no sun light but you can use full spectrum fluorescent tubes and hang the lights a few inches above the plants for greater light intensity.

Not many herbs or vegies will take low light. Mint will, and the hot Vietnamese mint….

Sorry dear but vegetables have to have 6 to 8 hours sunlight!

You would need an artificial light source to grow any vegetables and herbs. Nearly all need a lot of light.

Without artificial light, you might be able to grow some baby lettuce and greens, and mint doesn’t need full sun.
