Has anyone ever made an apple pie, then cut into it and the insides were purple?
I made an apple pie this thanksgiving, but didn’t eat it right away. I cut into it 2 days later and the inside of the pie was all purple! The pie was made with Granny Smith Apples, cloves, and cardamom, but I have made it with those ingredients before and never had it turn purple. Does anybody know why this would happen? I threw it away because it looked so wierd

Is it possible that you didn’t cook it right away, or that the cut-up apples sat for a while? Then oxidation might explain the unusual coloring.
maybe their spoil
that’s just gross. sorry i can’t answer the question
If there was no acid like lemon juice to stop the oxidation (discoloration) of the apples, that would cause the discoloration.
NO I ‘ve never heard of that before!! I’am glad you didnt eat it and threw it away you might have been sick….really wierd!!!
