How can I spice up store bought pasta sauce?
I’m making pasta tonight and I’m bored of the plain sauce. How can I spice it up?
Can you make sure its with simple ingredients? Nothing fancy please
And I like salty and spicy things. No sweet stuff.
Thank you.

and some seasoning
add a can of diced tomatoes with green chilies.
First, saute some garlic, shallots, and red pepper, add your bottled sauce with fresh basil and/or oregano. Also, could add some kind of chopped olives-green or black
Here are some additions I’ve used:
1. Add 1 or 2 lbs of spicy turkey italian sausage. Remove the casings and crumble as it browns.
2. Add 1/8 to 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
3. 1/2 cup good red wine
4. 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
5. Sauteed red onion
6. A little brown sugar
7. Fresh ground pepper
store bought pasta sauce already considers itself spiced up…usually due to the excessive sugar and salt in the recipe…
you can always use sausage, even breakfast links..put in more basil, oregano, and thyme. more garlic powder, and onion powder..i say powders cuz as nice as fresh garlic and onion are, the powder works better for prepared sauces, and fresh works better with home simmer from scratch…that’s why pizza shops use the powder.
MONKEY CHEESE
-saute garlic, onion, mushrooms
-basil, parsley, cinnamon
cook some ground beef and chopped onions and add to the sauce. cook for a few hours to let the flavors blend. add peppers if you like more “pow”. season to taste.
