i believe its the same..
sry dont know!!!!
about 30 leaves of fresh basil will equal 3 tblspoons of dried. do people use dried basil – i’ve never heard of it dried.
3 times as much fresh as dried.
Place on pan in warm oven and let it dry overnight.
it’s one tablespoon of dry.
it’ll take a while, but best way is to just let it sit if its sniped, but other than that hang it up(preferably out in the sun)
You need to put a little less becuse dry basil is a lot more concentrated.
you cant it is impossible
you need a bit more
You will use less but put it in the pot earlier. So I would use two T, since I like basil, and put it in as soon as the soup or dish starts getting the serious liquids added.
Leave in fridge in a brown paper bag and it will dry, then measure.
here is a good substitution:
1 tsp dried herbs or 1/4 tsp ground herbs = 1 tbsp fresh herbs
Dried herbs are always stronger than fresh ones. A simple conversion is 1 tablespoon of fresh is the equivilant of 1 teaspoon dry. So 3 teaspoons (ie. 1 tablespoon) should do the trick!
1 tablespoon of fresh is about equivalent to 1 teaspoon of dried…..thats a general rule of thumb….also when using fresh herbs…..add them near the end of the cooking process…..and when using dried…..add earlier as it takes longer to extract the flavors
if you cant wait over night set oven to 350 place basil on ungreased pan for 10 minutes may take a little longer pending on the oven
stick basil in freezer till its hard, take it out and crush it, its all the same.
Conversion rate is three fresh equals one dried.
