How do I get herbs and spice smell out of a house?

I (owner) rented an office for many years to an accupunturist and the place smells intensely like herbs and spices – its obsene how strong the odor is. What can I do to get rid of the funky smell from the walls, floors and ceilling? I want to repaint but not until the ordor is gone. My tenant is moving and the smell may deter prospective renters. Help.

Try this , it works if you have had a house fire , so it should help with the smell you are trying to rid. Pop a pot on the stove, bring to the boil add vinegar & leave to simmer as long as possible, just remember to top up the water in the pot every now and then. You don´t want to come back and ask how to clean a burnt pot. But incase this happen´s warm water wnough to cover the burn stain add 1 tablespoon of baking powder and leave for 10 min´s , wash with normal dish soap. ( JUST IN CASE)

Please don’t try to cover it up with a floral spray. Rose-scented garlic? ewwwww.
Regular baking soda absorbs odors. And its cheap. Sprinkle boxes of it around on the carpets/floors and let it set a few hours. Pour boxes of it into pie tins and set them around for a few days.
Good old-fashioned white vinegar is another option.
Soak towels in the vinegar, wring them out and spin them around as you walk around the room. You may wash the walls down with a vinegar-water solution. No harm done; once dry you can paint the walls without rinsing off the vinegar solution.
