How do I make Spicy Brown Mustard from Classic Yellow?

I have some classic yellow mustard in my fridge. What do I have to do to turn it into spicy brown mustard? Specific directions and quantities would be greatly appreciated.

Not really a feasible thing to do, unfortunately. Spicy brown mustards use a coarse ground mustard seed, no turmeric (which gives CYM it’s bright yellow color), and often incorporate horseradish for added heat. CYM is made with fine ground mustard seeds (mustard powder, or flour), salt, vinegar and various spices and flavorings.

If you want to try your hand at home-made mustards, I’d start your search here:

Happy cooking!
