How do I replant marjoram every year?
I was researching herbs that I want to try growing, and I think I’m going to buy some sweet marjoram seeds. The websites I’ve been to have said that sweet marjoram is an annual herb. Does that mean that it dies every year and I have to replant it? Is there a way to take a cutting or something from the live plant to grow a new one?
I plan to grow this plant indoors. Will it still die every year?

You have two choices here. You can start the Marjoram indoors and then plant outdoors until fall. Then remove the Majoram from the soil carefully getting some of the soil with the roots and transfer it to pots inside. You could also plant in a container in the spring and move the container outside for the summer and bring it back in for the winter saving you the need to dig it up.
Marjoram needs bright light to overwinter indoors, so make sure to place it in a location where it will get good light, or supplement with grow lights. Your best bet is to use a set of fluorescent lights and install grow lights in the fixture. Hang this over the container about twelve to eighteen inches above the plants. These need to be on about 12-15 hours per day so it is best to get a timer.Ideally it would be great if if you have a sunny location in your home that would give the plant great light and supplement with artifical light.
It will be glad to overwinter indoors in a sunny window, marjoram just needs an occasional watering with liquid fertilizer. Put the pot back out on a deck or patio in spring when all threat of frost has passed for the season.Incidentally,it is not frost proof and it will die if left out even in a light frost.
