How long did it take to see results after taking fenugreek?

After a sudden decrease in my milk production, I started to take fenugreek. I have been taking it since Friday afternoon and am not seeing much of an increase. I am just wondering since my baby isn’t taking formula or a bottle very well…
I guess I should add that I HAVE been talking to my doctor about this, and am taking it on her advice!! I have been trying to supplement w/ formula, she isn’t taking it as well as I would like to see but she is taking some.

When my daughter was born i also had a decrease in milk i saw a naturopath who told me to take Fenugreek to produce milk after taking it for a couple of days it completly dried all my milk up

Do you think you need to up the dosage? You will notice a maple smell to your breasts/body/and pee. I’m not sure how much you are taking but maybe you need to take some more. You can also try Brewer’s Yeast (beer). Almonds, Oatmeal, Water they also will help boost your milk supply. Lots of skin to skin contact as well. Lay in bed for a day with baby and just let baby nurse as much and whenever possible. Drink lots of water.

I thought it was fennel you were suppose to take (is that the same?)

I have a better suggestion for you…get some sleep, get a back rub and have a warm shower

AND IF YOUR MILK KEEPS DECREASING.
Now this may seem gross but if you are desperate, ask your partner if he could suck some out ONLY AFTER baby has fed (he can spit it out afterwards – nothing we don’t do during oral…) – he will have a much stronger suck and your body will produce more. If he does this 3 times a day, you should have significantly more milk with a few days.

do not muck around with this. go see child health nurse or doctor, or lactation clinic. Drink lots of water yourself, and massage breasts to stimulate milk supply. go see medical health practitioner today right now the baby may not be getting enough nutrition. do it now

I had a huge decrease in milk supply when my son was nearly 4 months old, and I went to the health store to get fenugreek and thistle and a few types of teas. I found this stuff called Vitanica Lactation Blend. I bought it because it has the fenugreek, the thistles, the red raspberry tea leaves, the oat, hops, and all kinds of other things that are supposed to increase milk supply. You take two in the morning and two at night, and then when it goes up you can cut back to 1 and 1 (and then I eventually stopped after two bottles since my milk came back). My sister was saying with just pure fenugreek, you should be taking enough to smell like a waffle factory, hehe ;)
