How long does it take poppy seeds to get out of system?
Wife has a drug test on Tuesday for a potential job and ate a almond poppy seed muffin Friday. Since Poppy seeds are made into opium, I was just wondering how long it takes for the opium to leave the blood stream/urine flow? She really wants the job and I want her to pass the drug test. I just saw this on Mythbusters….maybe it is on their website for you to watch, but I swear they said 48 hours….good luck!
Yes, 48 hours…but on Mythbusters, it was shown that you would have to eat a whole bag of bagels in one sitting for it to show a minute positive on the test…two bags would probably be a definite positive…since she only ate 1 bagel, she should be fine.
