Freezing makes it very bitter.
Never refgerate raw garlic, store at room temperature.
Chop garlic is good for only a few days. Chopped garlic in jars will last 6 months.
There is most definetely a reduction in flavor. I wouldn’t let chopped garlic sit out longer than 30 minutes or so or there is a noticable difference. The only difference I can think of is the kind you buy already minced. It is packaged in a liquid that keeps it fresher longer. i do not think this tastes nearly as good as freshly chopped garlic.
Do you own a garlic press? They are very cheap and make the garlic chopping process SO easy. I use mine so often I bought another one so I wouldnt have to clean it every day.
better if you put it in a jar add oil and put in the fridge then use it everytime you need it!
What I normally do is when after I buy a bunch of garlic is peel them chop with a few few teaspoon of oil and put it in a bottle jar. It normally last me for a loooonngg time…months to a year.
