How many basil plants can you plant in one pot?
I am very new to growing herbs and I bought some the other day and just wondering if I could grow more than one basil plant in one pot. I have them in pots outside the house by the way. Any help would be great. Thanks!

Depends how big the pot is!
Each plant will need about 6 cubic inches to grow in.
1 plant per pot.
If you are using the small (8″) pots, one per pot. If you have larger (12″) pots you can plant two. If you have the even larger (15″) pots, three. If you have one of the large tree pots, about two or three feet diameter you can plant about nine or ten, maybe even a dozen, in it. Just be sure they aren’t crowded together; you want them to have room to spread so you get more leaves to harvest.
Good luck and enjoy!
Plant them 3″ apart. The deeper the pot, the more you can plant.
By the way, when the growing season is over, dispose of the soil that basil grew in. It should not be used again – not even for basil, as it becomes contaminated.
generally, just 1-2 depending on how big the pot is…
