How to use garlic paste and hot pepper paste?
I asked for a recipe for Pinto beans earlier and I got a fabulous one that calls for 2 cloves of garlic and some chili powder. I have some store-bought garlic paste and hot pepper paste that I have not used yet and I wondered if I could subtitute the garlic and chili powder with the pastes?

The answers to your questions would be “yes” and “yes”. The chili paste has garlic IN it, so it makes it a staple in my kitchen……..I buy it a couple jars at a time, as I use it in a LOT of applications………
I would experiment with the amounts, depending on how “spicy” and “garlicky” you prefer……Enjoy!!!
EDIT: If you’re using Libbyami’s recipe (which I recommend) then yes, you can use about 1 1/2 tablespoons of the chili garlic paste……Hope this helps!!! Remember, you can always add more…..so start with a tablespoon and go from there…….
