I am looking for German recipe with oranges, spices and cranberries made at Christmas?

When I was a little girl, my parents and I lived with my Grandmother. At Christmas she would make something that made the whole house smell of oranges and spices. However, my namesake passed away 30 years ago, and no one can remember what it was.

Her parents came from Germany, and this was a German Christmas tradition. However she was the only one that made it. I remembered it the other day when I bought some Orange Spice tea that smelled like it.
It seems like it was a baked good… but I asked my folks and all I got was that it had cranberries in it, and they had asked Robert (Dad’s cousin) for the recipe and he didn’t have it.
It was a relish type deal, and the recipe came from Germany.

I don’t know if you are thinking about baked goods, or raw, but my mother made something when I was growing up and I have continued the tradition. You finely chop raw cranberries, apples, and oranges in a food processor or chopper, then mix together with sugar to taste. It is wonderful as a raw salad, or you can use it for the fruit in a quick bread, adding cinnamon and nutmeg for spices.
