I want to make a low-cal version of chex mix any idea to substitute the butter/margarine and just have spices?
I know to reduce bagel chips, nuts, etc. – my thought is to make the mix with just cereal and spices… but what to use to get spices to stick?

Use olive oil, it is tasty and is a good healthy substitute for butter
Margarine has lots of water in it so when you make your chex mix with margarine instead of butter it will get soggy. Olive oil is a good choice.
