Is eating sap from an opium poppy dangerous?
If someone were to extract the sap from an opium poppy seed head, would it be harmful? If it were a small amount of sap extracted from a few incisions in the seed pod and left for a few hours, would that have any effect on that person? Could it cause them to become unconscious or kill them?
Is it even possible to have any effect from eating the sap, or does it need to be processed into heroin to cause an effect?

One comment a “Is eating sap from an opium poppy dangerous?”
Yes it would, the sap still contains the opiate alkaloids, they are just no where near as strong as heroin or even morphine.
make a tea from the seeds or sap, it will help you sleep. Poppies have been used medicinally for thousands of years, sometimes called “sleeping poppy”
Be careful with the use though we all know about the addictive effects of certain opiates.
