I tried to different brand teas for this purpose from the organic store, and I do not feel that they made that much of a difference. I think that environmental factors like stress have a huge impact your milk production. They also have Galactagogue vitamins that claim to increase milk production, check out the link below.

I had a friend give me the milk maid tea, but honestly, the only thing that will increase your milk production is to nurse. Any supplementing will tell your body that it is making enough milk, so the more you nurse, the more milk. It’s basic supply and demand….

a friend moved to holland and the midwives recommended fennel tea for this reason.

I find that using a pump really dramatically increases the amount of milk i have. On a day i don’t pump, the next days milk is much lower and vice versa

I have never heard of this tea idea, but I have heard that if you eat lots of carrots and also a can of tuna once a week it increases breast milk production, but I’m not sure how true it is. I did this with my first child, and it seemed like I produced a lot of milk, but that could just be coincidence…I hope this helps! (Also, they give coupons at WIC for carrots and tuna if you are breastfeeding…of course these foods could just be on there because of their vitamin content…)

I always used the Yogi brand tea called “nursing mom”. It has Chamomile Flower, Fennel Seed, Stinging Nettle Leaf, Anise Seed, Fenugreek Seed, English Lavender Flower. Tastes great and is good for milk production.

Have this 2 or 3 times a day (or more, it’s fine). And always drink lots of water. Nurse often and don’t supplement with formula. The more you nurse, the more milk you’ll produce.

I used an herbal tea called Mother’s Milk…I think. It seemed to help me and the taste was pretty decent as well. I drank it hot sometimes, but I also would make a pitcher of ice tea with it and drink that over a period of a couple of days.

My LC said that the teas in conjunction to other breast milk increasing products would help but not on its own. She said for it to work, you’d have to drink about a dozen cups a day or so.

I have heard that the tea is not as effective as the Fenugreek pills. I am taking the Fenugreek and it does work pretty well :) I would recommend it to you. YOu can buy it at your local drug store, or wherever you get the tea Im sure. GL
