Tell me how you do it?
I’m making Meatloaf tonight, I know, but I’ve fluffed my mother’s old Better Homes recipe…
I use:
1 lb beef, lean, ½ lb pork and ½ lb veal or lamb (don’t, I know)
1 med onion, diced
1 egg
½ cup milk
1 tbls Dijon Mustard
2 tbls Ketchup
2 tbls A-1
1 tbls Herbs de Provance
2 slices bread, cubed
S&P
I hate making it, but with 2 little kids running up my skirt all afternoon, it’s as gay as I can get sometimes!
I’ll make up for the low-level gayness by adding some Macintosh Smashed Potatoes with wilted shallots.
Do you have any variations? I am always looking to try something new.

GARLIC! Oy…yup, it’s in there too…about 1 tbls
The skirt is a simple, beige, calf lenght, pleated…gotta move with the rugrats!

I would also throw in a clove of minced garlic.
Instead of bread, add some stuffing, and about a tablespoon of honey.
Glenn that sounds great…now as for the skirt…i have to know…what color is it?!
This is my meatloaf quick and simple. 2lbs. of ground beef,1 tbsp. of flour, 2 tbsp’s of Parmesan cheese, half a jar of chunky spaghetti sauce, 4 slices of bread chopped. lemon pepper to taste. Save the rest of the sauce for the top of the meatloaf when it’s almost finished.
Sounds great, but you should also add some diced bell peppers! Also, when it’s almost done, drain the excess fat and put ketchup on top of it and let it bake awhile longer. Ummmm – good!!!
Yes,
Bacon Cheeseburger Meatloaf
Add:
1 cup of grated Cheddar cheese, add half to the meat mixture, sprinkle the rest on top after the loaf is formed.
Line the inside of your loaf pan with sliced bacon before you add the meat mixture.
I would also always add a medium chopped bell pepper and 2 chopped cloves of garlic to your basic recipe above. I also like things spicy so I would also add a tablespoon of Tabasco Sauce or one chopped fresh jalapeno. Fresh not the kind in vinegar.
okay, the following recipe is for use with deer. Not sure how gay you mean to be, but if I had to guess you sound like you’d rather be hunting. This works good with other meats as well, so don’t panic.
Oh and trust me, don’t leave out the tomato sauce. I did and it had the texture of a fruitcake; you know kind of like a rubber hockey puck. But I suppose that’s only if you are using deer. I also used regular mustard and it was fine.
If you’re looking for a different taste for your meatlof this is it. Despite some of the questionable ingredients it had a hint of a sweet flavor to it. Okay, the windbag is done.
Deer Meat Loaf
~ 1 1/2 pounds ground deer
~ 2 eggs
~ 1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
~ 1 medium onion, finely chopped
~ 1 cup dry bread crumbs
~ 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
~ 1/8 tsp pepper
~ 1/2 tsp garlic powder
~ 2 tbsp brown sugar
~ 2 tbsp spicy brown mustard
~ 2 tbsp vinegar
In a large bowl, lightly beat eggs. Add tomato sauce, onion, bread crumbs, salt, pepper and garlic powder.
Add deer meat and mix well. Press into an ungreased 9 x 5 x 3 loaf pan.
Combine brown sugar, mustard and vinegar; pour over meat loaf.
Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 70 minutes.
Enjoy with mashed potatoes, your favorite vegetable, and warm bread or rolls!
