I have a good crop of both onion and garlic coming up this year. Can you eat the leaf. i know these are not chives but ….
Come on someone. can you eat the chive from the garlic?

I know you can eat the leaves of onion. We have onions that we leave in the ground and just cut a few leaves off for green onion. Some are thicker than spring onion from the store but good nonetheless. I never tried the garlic leaves. I believe they would be tough and papery…but it wouldn’t hurt to try. Oh yea, don’t cut all the leaves off an onion plant just the outside two or three and you can cut then down to the base as others will grow. Have fun!
