What are good flowers or herbs as wedding favors?
We are getting married in October in Southern Indiana. I would like to grow flowers or herbs for each individual guest. Any ideas on what would be easy to grow and blooming at that time of year? (our colors are claret, champagne, and chocolate brown)

one of my friends got married in october a few years ago and gave each guest a paperwhite (daffodil) bulb in a glass votive candle holder. They were just starting to sprout, so the guests got to take them home, put them on their windowsill and watch them grow and flower! it was really neat!
I know that i plan on gifting hand crafted pots with forget-me-nots growing in them they grow and spread quickly but stay under three inches so they make great gifts for the office or Kitchen. they also come in pink, purple, light blue and even white. you could even add a tag that says Forget-Us-Not on the outside and it could have your information on the side of the pot…
We had a butterfly themed wedding so I gave seeds from my garden and Butterfly Weed in a decorative pot.
Mint is extremely easy to grow and can be cut down for a tight little bouquet in a pot. It is not very decorative, so colored bows that are the theme of your wedding would be nice. Chocolate Mint is an exceptional plant. It can be easily started with root cuttings. It has a beautiful chocolate scent. You could decorate the pots with wedding tulle also.
vrueger, Try calling a local florist and they can answer your questions. I found a nice list of Indiana local florists. I suggest visiting a florist near where you live.
