Not long ago I heard in a TV show that cinnamon has an aphrodisiac scent, it must be some truth on it because… hm-mm, have you used cinnamon candles?
One simple benefit of cinnamon is that it simply smells and tastes exquisite and yummy. The only real scientific health benefit I know of is that it can increase concentration. I heard that students taking a test preform better if they are chewing on cinnamon flavored gum, or even just sitting near a cinnamon scented candle.
Ground cinnamon is perhaps the most common baking spice. Cinnamon sticks are made from long pieces of bark that are rolled, pressed, and dried. Cinnamon has a sweet, woody fragrance in both ground and stick forms. The sweet-spicy flavor of Cinnamon enhances the taste of vegetables and fruits. Cinnamon is essential in hot cross buns and spiced wine drinks. Cinnamon and freshly grated nutmeg combine very favourably in many baked loaves and cakes.
It is useful in sore throat, cold, cough, sneezing and mild headaches. Also good for digestion.
Cinnamon is a powerful antiseptic. It is high in antioxidants and is useful for diarrhea, vomiting, stomach cramps, flatulence, nausea, infant colic and uterine problems. It breaks down fats in your digestive system.
