What can I add to make Japanese curry super spicy?
I have the S&B golden curry in a box. I want to know what chefs add to their curry to make it super hot because I want that super spicy curry stuff. Would chili powder or sliced pimentos work?

black pepper, jalopenos
Authenic Japanese curry is actually not very spicy, but if you want to heat it up the pimentos will not help and chili powder will move the flavor toward Mexico rather than Indian, A little curry powder fried in butter for 30 seconds or so and a dash of cayenne pepper are going to be better. If you don’t have curry powder just the cayenne will heat it up but not particularly heighten the spices. Adding amixture of ground cumin and ground corriander might help.
Ginger (the fresher the better) is often great for adding heat to Asian dishes.
