What can I do with aloe vera gel and turmeric powder?

Someone on yahoo told me to use aloe vera gel and turmeric powder together because my skin had become irritated from shaving upwards. I want to try out the aloe vera gel and turmeric but the person didn’t say what I do with them. Do I mix the two together and wash my face daily with them? Or do I do something else? And also where do I get aloe vera from? Boots maybe? Or Superdrugs?
Haha – just to clear the confusion. I’m a guy who had a problem with shaving my face. Then someone told me to use these things for my irritated skin (my cheeks). But still don’t know what to do with them.
