What do I name my baby boy?

Well, hubby and I couldn’t agree on the name I wanted (Yusuf), so he came up with a list of names and the following are the ones that I’m ok with. I wanted something Arab with a nice meaning that is pronouncible in English and Spanish.
Here is the list to choose from:
Nasser (the fam likes this one, means one who brings victory)
Ibrahim (name of a prophet)
Shoaib (love it, but to hard to pronounce for English/Spanish speakers)
Ameen
Anees (I think of Anise star)
Jaleel
Shaheed
Basheer

Which are your top 3?
By the way, hubby is Saudi.

well i would chose:
1-Ameen
2-Anis
3-Basheer
i like( Ali) it’s simple and can be pronounced easily

Nasser Akmid, or Abdul(it’s short for Abdulrahmen or something, I had a kids on my team whose name where Akmid and Abdul.)

Ibrahim, Ameen, & Anees

Shaheed
Ameen
Shoaib (you can also spell it “Shu’aib”)

They are all great names. Why don’t you let your mother or father in law name the baby? That would be a really special bond for the in laws and you and the baby.

I think I like Nasser the best.

Hey congrats on ur baby :)
how about my name? Hamad :p
anyways, out of those specific names i’d choose Nasser.
I’m not Saudi, I’m from Dubai, yet my little bro’s name is Fahad !

Congratulation first of all and I hope you and the baby go through the birth safely. I really would like to give some suggestions but I’m sure that you and your husband went through tough time to come up with this short list already.

I will go for:

Nasser
Ameen
Basheer

pleaes give him the prophet’s name .mohammed is the best ,and sprcially now in his birthday.

Name the baby after a beloved relative.
I prefer Ibrahim.

I like Ibrahim and Nasser
Sohaib is good also

Keep in mind some names are associated with certain ethnicities are minorities or nationalities. Even within Saudi theres bedwin names, names popular in the western part of Saudi and so on.

For instance, Basheer is popular among Sudanese people.

Shaheed is popular among Pakistanis and Indians.

Ameen, I think would be more popular in Jeddah than in Riyadh.

Anyway, if you want something Arabic (and Muslim of course ), AND international, how about Sami ? Sami means “highness” (from bad things.)

Its considered a kinda modern name as I dont think it was used like 500 years ago or even 200.

Anees means one who makes you happy when around. Not that popular in Saudi but its nice.

Ibraheem works everywhere.

Muhammad is kinda international too you know. Its the most popular name in the world.

If you want something to fit into any society without any racial/religious indications, I think Sami would be cool.

Oh and as you probably already know theres no such name as Akmed. Its Ahmad.

Congratulations.

Is he originally Saudi? Those names are not really a Saudi’s guys first, second or third choices…weird..

I like Nasser, Shoaib
