½ cup olive oil
⅓ cup lemon juice
2 tbsp. Rosemary
1 tbsp Thyme
½ tsp sugar
½ tsp salt & pepper
pour over chicken or shrimp or use as marinade
OR
Garlic Lemon Marinade
1/4 cup olive oil
1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
6 cloves garlic
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 lemon peel
In blender, combine olive oil and lemon juice. While blending, drop in garlic cloves one at a time. Gradually add lemon peel strips. Continue to blend until mixture is pureed.
A saucepan, one stick of unsalted butter, galric and fresh chopped herbs. Melt the butter in the pan and add stuff til you think it tastes good. Very simple recipe. Just make sure you use unsalted butter, garlic is salty itself so you don’t want to over do it.
Lemon Herb Sauce:.
1 cup chicken stock
1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1/2 cup olive oil
1 tablespoon chopped mixed fresh herbs
(such as basil, parsley, chives, and oregano;
can use dried,
but fresh is better)
In a small saucepan, bring the chicken stock to a simmer.
Transfer to a blender or food processor.
Add the mustard and process on high speed.
With the motor running, add the lemon juice, olive oil,
and herbs, and process until smooth.
Serve immediately.
This is what I would do: Melt 2 T. butter in a saute pan, add one chopped shallot and cook for 2 minutes, add 1 chopped garlic clove and cook about 30 seconds more, add some white wine (about 1/4 c.) and a bit of balsamic vinegar (1 – 2 tsp.) Let reduce for about 2 minutes and stir in some chopped herbs such as thyme, oregano, tarragon, parsley, chives (whatever you prefer). Mix the juice of a whole lemon with 1 T. cornstarch (mix until smooth) and add to the saute pan. The sauce will thicken. Add a bit of Salt/Pepper as you please. Add a few thin slices of lemon to the finished sauce so people know it’s a lemon sauce, and spoon over the already-grilled skewers of shrimp. Sounds so good I may have to make this tonight!
