What is a simple sauce or spices that I can put on plain brown rice?
I have some brown rice cooked up, but I want something to put on it to give it more flavor. Could anyone give me a nudge in the right direction? I would prefer it be very simple, and not have to be cooked (or with minimal cooking involved), and be something that I can just place on a single serving of the rice. I like Asian-inspired dishes, and Indian food.

I would normally use some Soy or Sweet Soy to give it a lift.
Add some melted butter and garlic or some onions and peppers sauteed in olive oil.
Curry & chicken broth
Mrs. Dash seasoning & chicken broth
Teriyaki sauce
Try cooking your rice in chicken broth.
Or stir-fry with green onion & egg.
simple and quick and tastes Chinese inspired\
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon orange marmalade (jam)
1 teaspoon garlic powder (not salt)
1 teaspoon powdered ginger
Mix together and heat over medium high heat until marmalade melts. Pour over rice. Sweet and savory and if you like spicy, add hot sauce to taste
i would whip up a nice little fried rice..soy, egg, pepperoni, spring onions, capsicum..or u could just open a tin of tuna? wouldnt take long.
I have a spice grinder filled with the ingredients for garam masala (i.e. not ground). It’s really nice to grind some of the mixture over curry, or rice just before you serve or at the dinner table. It gives a delicious aroma and a fantastic taste. And really really simple. You can buy them at specialist shops.
mince cucumbers.carrots and a little onion and mix them with low fat yoghurt…
I get grilled fish with brown rice from this restaurant, and they offer a few sauces, but the one that compliments the rice most is their chilli sauce. It has White wine vinegar, chopped red chilli, olive oil, fish sauce, finely chopped mint, coriander and parsely, and its a little sweet so I’m guessing either sweet chilli sauce or sugar. Its soooo nice with both the fish and the rice. If I was making it at home I would add half a tsp of grated ginger as well.
a touch of sesame oil & some toasted sesame seeds
minced ginger & soy or teriyaki sauce
chutney
minced garlic & lemon pepper
squeeze of lemon & fresh dill
