What is it that turns chai into a clay-like color?
The spices (cinnamon, cardamon, ginger and cloves) and tea (Darjeeling) only make the chai that I make into a beige-like color. The delicious chai that I’ve had in two different places are in a clay color. What is the ingredient or technique that I’m missing out?

Probably turmeric. Not all chai mixtures use it, but some do. It would add an orange tinge to the brown tea.
The tea leaves are of dark green colour only and after plucking the tea leaves are processed by different methods and tormented to give black or to produce an amber-color, and also bitterness to this beverage. Due to process and formenatation when put in hot water or boiled the liquor becomes mostly dark color.-
Warm milk is added to the tea.
Tea Powder………
