What is the balk of a cinnamon tree?
I had a question on Who Wants to be a Millionaire on my iPhone, and I had the question What part of the cinnamon tree does the spice cinnamon come from? I lost the $25,000. The correct answer is the Balk of the tree. What is the balk? I’ve never heard of it from a tree. Thank you!

Rough pieces of timber are called a “balk.” While it is the bark of the tree, once removed it is now a “balk.”
I think you mean bark.
The bark is peeled from the outside of the tree trunk and either sold in sticks of curled bark or ground into powder.
