a shallot is smaller and milder. they are in the same family.
a shallot is a small onion and produces more aroma and spice than the usual large onion
Shallots are smaller and much milder in flavor. Can be used raw where onion would be too strong. (Sauces and dressings…)
Shallots have small clustered bulbs, like garlic, but are milder. Also called green onions.
