What is the difference between mustard and grey poupon mustard?
I’m making a marinade and it calls for grey poupon mustard…all I have is regular mustard. Is there a big difference..can I just use the regular mustard or do I have to go to the store and get greypoupon..thanks!

it depends on what the recipe is. if it’s a kind of dressing or sauce then I would use the Grey Poupon. It has white wine in it and tastes different from yellow mustard. I can’t describe the difference.
I have a recipe for pea salad and I have all the ingredients except the dijon mustard. I do have yellow mustard but I just don’t think it would taste right.
I have substituted dijon mustard (grey poupon makes many styles but the original is dijon style) with other mustards many times. Dijon mustard gets most of it’s acid from wine instead of vinegar, so does have a unique taste.
I can also note that in some recipes where I have made multiple times, I have preferred the use of some other mustards over dijon even though the original recipe calls for dijon. In other cases, the dijon was the preferred taste.
I suggest you save a trip to the market and use what you have.
