What kind of stupid bug keeps eating my bell pepper plants?
Something has been gnawing the leaves of my pepper plants, and I *finally* saw the bugs yesterday. Its greyish-brown and its body is shaped like an elongated sheild (a shield like a coat of arms, for example). It has long-ish legs (like a cricket) and it can fly, as 4 or 5 of them flew off my plants. The things are destroying the leaves! Does anyone know what kind of bug this is and how I get rid of the @#$% things?!

Good old fashion soap and water.
spray it with the miracle grow plastic sprayer, every day for about 9 days, it will get rid of that and every other insect on the plants
Good Luck
Sounds like a Japanese Beetle. Sevin dust or spray kills them almost immediately.
