What makes black pepper corns different the regular black pepper?
Ok, all my life i’ve been using regular black pepper to spice up some of my meals. Yesterday, i used black pepper corns and I was like, “WOW!” I mean, the turning and grinding was a bit inconvience, but the taste was worth it. What makes the two different? Is one healthier then the other?

They’re the same thing. The “regular” black pepper is simply pre-ground, which means you lose a lot of the flavor. Grinding it fresh means you get the punch of the oils being released as you use it. I don’t think that one is healthier than the other, though.
Read this please:
It’s fresher. That canned pepper has been setting there for a long time, grinding it yourself just has a fresher flavor and aroma. Just like Parmesan cheese for example. the canned is convenient but the fresh grated is a whole different taste!!!!
black pepper come from black peppercorns.
The main difference is that with black peppercorns you grind it fresh so you get all the flavors and volatile oils.
Black pepper (the stuff already ground up) loses a lot of it’s flavors because of air (oxidation), volatile oils evaporating and just the process of grinding.
It is freshly ground. Th eessential oils are intact and present, and any moisture in the peppercorns is still there to help the flavor spread to the food. The pre-ground stuff in a can, you have no idea when/where that was ground!
Black pepper is harvested as green berries just before they turn red,sun dried & packaged, they retain their taste & flavour over several months, freshly ground the aroma really hits you,but pepper sold as powder only means the process of grinding was done a while back so it looses ite flavour in the keeping.
Most spices loose their volatile oils over time so they are not as flavourful ,if some time has gone by.
